AIM

STAMENT OF THESIS
The economic strategies used by the enslaved Africans played an key role in enabling them to survive slavery in the British Caribbean up to 1838.

Introduction
The slaves of the Caribbean were brought in from Northern Africa to a new land which was unidentified to the Africans which made them feel home sick . The Africans were captured and used as slaves by the British in the Caribbean in 1644. They were force to conk long, hectic hours and had to comply with their slave drivers. The slaves were beaten if they did not come after their masters instructions and the enslaved Africans became very afraid of their slave masters.

As the years went on they become more able to understand their slave masters language and were better able to cope with their environment.
The slaves on the plantation gradually learned to talk English and some of them even learned how to read so they would read the news papers that were left lying around the talks of freedom that was coming (were getting smarter) and the slave drivers were comely fearful of the slaves rebelling so they offered them a buyout clause known as manumission.
