Effective leading and Management in Nursing
Effective leadership and instruction are essential for the success of an system. Leadership can be defined as an individual who is able to guide or provide directions to a group. Leaders moldiness display legitimate characteristics. Management on the other hand focuses on the acquirement of the organizational goals. The focus of this paper is to discuss my personal views, battle between leadership and management, and the characteristics of effective leaders.
Personal Views of Leadership
My personal views are leadership start with the idea that individuals are hired to do a job to receive a paycheck. The nursing traffic requires nurses to provide care for other people, to help people, be a patient advocate, and lend a shoulder to cry on. Leaders should be clinically competent at times. Leaders must lead by example, be humble, approachable, understanding, and score a genuine interest in the organization and staff members. Leaders are good resources; however when they are unsure of the correct assist for the question asked, they do know where to go to obtain the answer.
How Leadership Differs From Management
Manager and leader are often used interchangeably but do not have the same meaning.  A manager is employed by an organization that is responsible for accomplishing the goals of the organization (Sullivan & Decker, 2009). A manager asks how and when, focuses on the organization, maintain, believe in control, have short-term perspective, accept the status quo, imitate, and copy (Reynolds & Warfield, 2010, p. 62). According to Sullivan and Decker (2009), a leader uses his or her interpersonal skills to influence others to achieve a specific goal. Leaders recognize their own weaknesses and strengths.
