It does this magnificently, managing to be informative while still being interesting. Because of this, the site is rich in content, pictures, and convient golf links to other articles. The content in the site is organized in a timeline structure, with links off of the home page coherent in their chronologocal inn. There are several different info pages, divided up by important fifty-fiftyts in the librarys history, such as the first permanent mental synthesis in the system (1897). The data covers the time from the librarys conception and first opening, in 1873, up till expert developments and foundations in 1995. Information is given in a to a greater extent narrative style, and there are many photos and visual back up to break up the text. Also located on the site is a proclamation from Mayer Daley concerning the librarys 125th anniversary, and a list of special collections and librarians. The main site was last modifyd in 2000, and the other pages have been update as recently as five months ago.

From a web designers standpoint, the site is very unproblematic and spartan, but nonetheless well done. A minimilalistic approach actually serves the site well, as with no backgrounds and small, simple headers and footers, there can be no doubt that the charge here is on the information itself. This has the added bonus of allowing the page to misdirect very fast, even on slow connections. The onscreen text is miserable up nicely, avoiding long columns of solid text that strain the eye and readers patience. Most of the links appear to put to work as well.
