Material
OTC Drugs: Acetaminophen, Aspirin, Excedrin, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Alka-seltzer
Other Materials: Distilled Water, dil, HCl, Ferric Nitrate, Universal Indicator, Spot plates, beral pipet, pelf Stick, Toothpicks, Apron, Goggles, Gloves.
Safety procedure
Must follow all the safety procedures and precautions.
Procedures
In the horizontal row of the spot plate, place a sensitive amount of OTC drugs in to each of the three depressions. cross out them. Observe the color and caryopsis. Add 5 drops of distilled water in to the first column of the spot plate. Then annex 1 drop of universal indicator to the same column. Use a different toothpick to stir each one. Observe the change. Similarly add 2 drops of HCL to column #2 and two drops of ferric nitrate to column #3. Use toothpick to stir each one. Record your observations. care broady discard all solutions and rinse the spot test. Clean up your workstation. Perform the same test with all drugs.
