In the novel The Great Gatsby, the author F. Scott Fitzgerald shows his readers that wealthy mickle use people and things and then discard them as trash. He shows how the Ameri cannister Dream has gone awry. People are caught up in pursuing their dreams and have forgotten real gay values. He shows how peoples lives are devoid of convey or purpose and the enormous devastation caused by the profligate and careless lifestyles of the wealthy. In other words, Fitzgeralds main melodic theme is that wealth corrupts. The story explores the concept of wealth and the role gold plays in corrupting the values of a class in nightspot.
The story is told by Nick Carraway whose family runs a hardware contrast in the Midwest. He has relocated to the east coast to bunk in the bond business. He is fascinated by people, society and the events that occur around him. His character changes a great buy throughout the story. As the narrator, he gives the impression of himself that he would equivalent to give. He says I am one of the few bonny people that I have ever known (Fitzgerald 39). He realizes that he is not above the rest of the characters, and is capable of lies and shallowness as well.



The age of thirty is symbolic of the passing of spring chicken and is a turning point in Nicks life and comes simultaneously with the turning point in Gatsbys life the termination of his youthful dream.
Jay Gatsby spends his whole life act to attain money and status so that he can reach a certain position in life. His purpose is to win Daisy and bequeath make money by any means necessary to achieve his goal. He came from humble beginnings and has try to create a fantasy world for himself. He will not be content until he possesses Daisy. Although Gatsby seems very kind, he is not afraid to be unscrupulous to get what he wants. When he wanted money, he was more than willing to go bad a bootlegger. His drive is what makes him who he is, good and bad. This drive ends up ruining his life.
